Ty Provosty, a native Louisianian, is the founder of Studio LeDoux Design and Architecture. He began his journey into the arts of architecture, design and building during the “back to the land” movement in the mid 1970’s. On several hundred remote acres he was taught the fundamentals of carpentry by a very talented carpenter from Houston, Texas, From the beginning Ty discovered that he had come to his life’s calling. He was the proverbial duck come to water. Following this initial exposure into the building arts he had the good fortune to attend one of our nations finest schools of architecture, The College of DAAP at the University of Cincinnati. His exposure to architectural history and theory is extensive.
There in Cincinnati he was afforded years of experience with historic architectural preservation, providing both hands on experience and design opportunities as an architect. This work included the design of highly compatible additions to historic residences and institutional buildings. In his later career he became involved in signature institutional buildings. These projects afforded experience with the most advanced of building techniques and materials and the highest ideals of architectural design.
