Our Story

The story began back in the days of the "Back To The Land" movement in the mid 1970's. There our founder learned the art of building, (or rather rediscovered his talent for building). In those early days Ty Provosty did it all: Carpentry; Excavation; Plumbing; Electrical wiring; Farming; Barn living; Tent living; and Original design.

Through a hands on process and his deepening relationship with the rhythms of nature, Ty Provosty began his life long journey with building for the human condition. After this initial rooted experience he attended one of our nations preeminent schools of architecture, the college of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning at the University of Cincinnati. He cut his teeth on the myriad 19th century brick structures that make up the historic, (and at that time abandoned), neighborhoods of Cincinnati known at Over the Rhine and Pendleton He migrated through the experiences of refined residential projects to a wide variety of educational projects, then on to large scale civic and cultural projects both here in the USA and abroad. He now happily resides in his home state of Louisiana, being settled in New Orleans. He sees the potential for a truly responsive urban-adapted rebirth of the built environment responsive to the influx of a diverse creative young population. Ty is grateful for the broad range of experiences in his professional field of endeavor.
